Expanded Basemap Options
To help users better visualize and analyze data, MapDash 2.4 includes an expanded collection of basemap options which enable users to change the “backdrop” of the map. Visual styles include:
Color (dark or light themed, including an “crowdsource” alternative called OpenStreetMap)
Dark (deep shades of gray tones)
Light (lighter shades of gray tones)
Aerial (real-world perspective from high altitude)
For each option, users can choose to display how roads, land and water, and labels for places and road names are displayed. These include:
Under - the entire basemap is displayed “beneath” other map layers
Bold - place names and roads (with labels) are displayed “on top of” other map layers.
Subtle - place names and roads (with labels) are displayed “on top of” other map layers, but are muted.
